Complete in Christ: No Need for More Warped Throws
Col 2:10 “and you have been filled by him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
11 You were also circumcised in him with a circumcision not done with hands, by putting off the body of flesh, in the circumcision of Christ,
12 when you were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13 And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he made you alive with him and forgave us all our trespasses”.
Thoughts
When Adam ate the forbidden fruit, he didn’t just make a bad choice — he changed the entire course of humanity. Up to that moment, he stood in perfect fellowship with God. But when he fell, everyone he represented fell with him. Adam was the head of the old humanity, and his collapse became our collapse.
But God sent a Second Adam — Jesus Christ — to represent a new humanity. Colossians 2:10–12 shows us how He takes people who were spiritually dead and makes them fully acceptable to God.
Verse 13 describes our condition before salvation: uncircumcised hearts, dead in trespasses, no spiritual pulse, no spiritual potential. Like a cracked, warped disc that won’t fly right, that was us—broken and unable to be made whole by our own effort.
Then Christ steps in.
Verse 12 tells us how He does it. Just as Adam represented us in sin, Christ represents us in salvation. When He was buried, you were buried with Him. When He was raised, you were raised with Him. It becomes yours the moment you trust His work on the cross.
Verse 11 explains the transformation: Christ performs a spiritual circumcision — cutting away the old fleshly nature. He doesn’t sand it down, patch it up, or try to make the old self fly straighter. He removes it entirely and creates a new man.
It’s like retiring that beat-up disc you’ve tried to “fix” a hundred times. Christ doesn’t tape the rim or bend it back into shape—He gives you a brand-new disc, just as He gives you a new life in Him.
And verse 10 shows the result: you are made complete in Him. Nothing lacking. Nothing unfinished. No rituals, no mystical experiences, no spiritual performance needed to “add” to what Christ has already done. Paul is saying, “Stop trying to tweak what Christ has already perfected.”
So, when you step onto the tee box of real life, don’t drag the old, warped nature Adam handed you. Christ has already cut it away and placed a brandnew identity in your hands. You’re not throwing with the old humanity anymore — you’re throwing with resurrection power. In Him, you’re complete, equipped, and fully accepted. No extra rituals, no spiritual accessories, no “fixing” the old mold. Just Christ in you, the new creation flying exactly the way He designed. Step up, trust the new man He’s made you, and let your life take the line He’s already carved.
